A: Yes-we are fully licensed and insured up to $2,000,000.
A: While it’s by no means normal, occasionally incidents are unavoidable. And a big part of planning your event is having a backup plan. You don’t want to be left high-and-dry at your reception or corporate retreat, after all. And if your DJ gets a flat tire or is struck by lightning en route to your event, we have a plan. When you book with us, you’re getting a DJ no matter what! It’s as simple as that. So we always keep a professional DJ on call. That way, in the (unlikely) event that something does happen to your DJ, you’ll still get a professional, experienced, and talented event or wedding DJ. Emergencies may be unavoidable, but that’s no excuse for your event to be music-less. When you book Capital Region Entertainment you know we’ll be there!
A: We offer DJ services for wedding ceremonies and receptions, corporate events, private parties, school functions, and anything in-between. We also offer lighting options (uplighting and dance floor options), special effects, and have photo booths available.
A: All we need to get started is a deposit of 30-50%. That deposit holds your date and is taken out of the final balance. Then the remaining balance is due one month before your event date. We try to make all of the payments as simple as possible. So you’re free to use debit, credit, PayPal or Venmo to make all of your payments.
A: Our DJ’s always dress professionally! During load in and set up we wear branded polos or buttons up and before guests arrive we switch into full suit and tie!

A: At Capital Region Entertainment we only use industry-leading, cutting edge equipment. No cluttered wires or busted speakers. Our setups look as good as they sound!
A: Although our equipment is professional and well maintained, accidents are unavoidable so we always have back ups on hand!
A: We bring the party to your event! However we will never be cheesy or embarrass you or your guests! We prefer to let the music speak for itself and only speak on the microphone when necessary. Our mixing style incorporates club DJ skill with mobile DJ appeal that focuses on the crowd and playing the right music at the right time.
A: A good time frame is at least six months before the event. However, we have DJs available for last minute events as well.
A: We do not include gratuity in the final contract price. 10 – 20% is generally recommended if your DJ did a great job, but it is entirely up to you.
A: This is not required in our contract and is completely up to you. Typically, the catering director or event coordinator will set aside a meal or boxed dinner for the DJ if requested by the client.
A: In most cases no. We have no travel costs for events within the Capital District. We only charge for travel if the event is more than one hour from our Albany NY location. Other states we travel to include: MA, CT, destination weddings.
A: This is a top concern for most of our clients. To sum it up our DJs can adapt to any level of interaction you desire. All of our DJs are also trained MCs and know how to keep people on the dancefloor and keep the event moving successfully. They can provide anything from a background announcer to nightclub party host! At the end of the day we want YOU to be the main attraction of the day!
A: Our DJs/MCs never take a break during your event and the music will always keep playing opposed to live bands who take breaks in-between dance sets.
A: Yes! We have multiple available for us at any type of event.
A: Please let us know as soon as possible. Depending on your contract, you can cancel your event up to a month prior to the event and forfeit only your deposit. If you cancel within the month prior to the event, you are responsible for the full balance. Extraordinary circumstances are an exception. It remains at the discretion of Capital Region Entertainment to what constitutes an extraordinary exception.
A: Here at Capital Region Entertainment we always arrive at least 2 hours before your event to ensure everything is fully set up, tested, and ready to go for your event!
A: Yes! We are currently doing all bookings/consultations/follow-ups virtually on Zoom.
The coronavirus pandemic has created never before seen challenges for both engaged couples and wedding professionals. We would like to make this time as easy as possible for you, below you will find related info.
Yes, reschedules carry no fees or red tape, all you have to do is sign a new contract for the new date. Due to high demand, your date may not be available. Since dates are given on a first come first served basis, you may need to choose a different reschedule date.
For all weddings happening under COVID-19 restrictions, we respect all current guidelines. We wear masks during the event and use disposable microphone covers (a mask for the microphone) and microphone sanitizer to help keep guests safe. We can even take requests from your guest virtually!
